Crime Scene Investigators

Students learn that capillary action moves liquids through tiny spaces in materials like fabric and paper. Crime Scene Investigators study how fluids spread through materials to understand what happened at a crime scene and gather important clues.

In this activity, students learn that electricity moving through wires creates a magnetic field. Engineers use this idea, called electromagnetism, to help power motors, generators, and many of the devices used in homes, schools, and businesses every day.
