Intro to Robotics - A.M. July 6-10 (Grades K,1,2,3)
Are you ready to build a robot? This program will introduce students to several types of LEGO robots. Each day we will explore different building and programming techniques. GradesK-3rd, A.M.
Junior Inventors - Full Day July 6-10 (Ages 4,5,6)
As junior inventors, we will design, create, construct and maybe improve inventions to help in our daily life. Ages 4 – 6 years.
FLL Skills Camp (Basic) - July 6-10 A.M. (Grades 3,4,5,6,7)
FLL Skills Camp (Advanced) - P.M. July 6-10 (Grade 5,6,7)
This course is for students who have competed in one or more seasons of FIRST LEGO League and wish to strengthen their skills. Campers will explore advanced building techniques and learn how to use sensors effectively for navigation. They will also discuss judging rubrics and how to be better prepared for the sessions. This camp is for the serious FLL competitors that would like to work with other like-minded students. 5th-7th grades.
Not Your Average Esport - P.M. July 6-10 (Grades 5,6,7,8)
With the ever-growing population of gamers, both young and old, Esports are turning into more than a simple fad. This camp will showcase the start of Esports back in the 20th century at the collegiate level, the business model of Esports and its pros/cons, the worldwide popularity of the sport and what it means for the future, as well as how Esports and education are on a collision course to coexist. There will also be a field trip to the local high school Esports facility, Elkhart High Elite, to examine the rigs, become familiar with them, and experience what an Esports team does on a constant basis. (Grades 5,6,7,8)
Astronomy - A.M. July 6-10 (Grades 4,5,6,7,8)
Come explore the sky! From our local star: the sun, to the planets and the stars beyond. Campers will learn how to build telescopes, track planets through the sky, construct tri-color images from NASA space telescope images and many other astronomy skills used by both amateur and professional astronomers. Includes star shows in our Star lab and an optional evening observation (weather permitting). (Grades 4,5,6,7,8)
