Play the musical carrots, and then learn about circuits as you build game controllers and other interfacing tools, all to your own spec’s. They may work great, or, they may not work at all. Can you figure out how to build your own innovative design? Geology Sandbox Watch as the sand morphs to help you design mountains, and rivers. Make ravine, then shake water out of your hand (as a raincloud) to build a lake. Better than a piece of paper, learn about topography in the amazing interactive sandbox Life-size Newton’s cradle One of our exhibits built by students, with the help of our staff, our Newton’s cradle is made of bowling balls and teaches first hand about Newton’s laws. Racer’s, Make Your Cars Build your own races, and then run them down the cart. Learn about incline planes first hand, as Galileo refined his ideas hundreds of years ago working with ramps. Will your design make it to the end, will it be fast or slow, and how can you modify the design to achieve new goals? Grossology Let the hostess who is the grossest take you through a game show experience learning about boogers and sweat. Think you are an expert in bodily functions? Compete against others in this fun, silly, and educational game show experience. Critter Corner Meet Stella, one of the friendliest bearded dragons – who loves people. Star Lab ETHOS – onsite planetarium.
Enjoy a learning center with an experience designed to surround and immerse. Watch a show in our 360 degree HD visual and sound dome theatre. We have many shows, which include trips through the body (The Body Code), a look at earth from the perspective of lunar colonizers (Earth’s Wild Ride), a story of where we have been and will be with space exploration (We Choose Space), and many others. We also host interactive planetarium shows, highlighting the current sky, where to observe planets during the evening – and the day, while sharing more fun astronomy. Dr. Sprague’s Photon Experience - COMING SOON! Dr. Sprague wondered what stars sounded like. So, on the roof above the SciLabs at ETHOS, we are putting up the wiring of a radio telescope. Utilizing SDR computer technology, we have brought the signal into the SciLab! An experience like no other awaits you. Our computers allow you to listen to photons of all colors in the radio spectrum, and see them! Dial in your favorite radio station, or dial in a star. Can you listen to activity on the sun? Yes, and see the audio signal on an on-screen oscilloscope, and the spectrum on a waterfall display! But what will it look and sound like today? Special Exhibit - The Hall of Holograms Come visit an amazing collection of holograms and learn about optics. We host a variety of holograms.
