Aliya Caldwell
STEM EDUCATOR Aliyac@ethosinc.org As a member of the STEM Education team at the ETHOS Innovation Center, Aliya Caldwell is using her passion for students and science to bring hands-on lessons to the classroom. As a wife and mother of two young boys, she enjoys exploring the world around her and bringing it to life for her children. Prior to joining the team, she taught second grade for over 12 years and fourth grade for half of a year.
She also created a collaborative, enrichment based, one year program to meet the needs of students in grades K-6th who had chosen hybrid and virtual school based learning. Her history with ETHOS Innovation Center spans more than 10 years. |
Her mission is to support teachers in as many ways as possible through the Baseline Inquiry Training, joining them for their planning times, co teaching, and demonstrating in their classrooms. She believes science is fun and should not be overwhelming and scary. Aliya has a B.S. in Elementary Science from Bethel University (formerly Bethel College). In her early years as a teacher, she attended the Inquiry Training offered by ETHOS Innovation Center and implemented the strategies into her classroom. She also taught and created many summer camps for ETHOS Innovation Center over the years. Her love of robotics sprung from teaching it as a camp and later blossomed into a whole class cross-curricular experience.
